CARLSBAD, Calif. — The The 2025 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships is underway.

Top collegiate men’s golf squads return to Omni La Costa Resort & Spa's North Course for another consecutive year to compete for the national championship. Last year’s victors, Auburn University, aim to retain their crown as they enter the tournament among the leading contenders. The competition commenced early Friday with the first round of stroke play scheduled over four days.

The NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships structure

The championship finals span across three days of stroke play from Friday through Sunday (covering 54 holes). Following this, the top-15 teams along with nine additional individuals who aren’t part of those leading teams will be identified. On Monday, another round consisting of 18 holes via stroke play will take place to narrow down the field to the top-eight teams moving forward into match play. This phase also decides the overall 72-hole individual winner. To conclude, the ultimate team national champion emerges through a bracket-style competition featuring quarterfinals and semifinals held on Tuesday, culminating in the finale on Wednesday.
