Report: Carlie Irsay-Gordon Set to Take Over Colts' Football Operations

According to The IndyStar’s Joel A. Erickson , current Indianapolis Colts vice chair/owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon the eldest (44) among the three daughters of recently deceased team owner Jim Irshein is anticipated to take charge of the team’s football operations moving ahead:

"Following the passing of her father, Jim Irsay, on Wednesday at the age of 65, Carlie Irsay-Gordon is anticipated to take over the management of the Indianapolis Colts' football operations. This step marks her full entry into a position she has been gradually getting ready for," Erickson states.

Irsay-Gordon, aged 44, is anticipated to split team ownership with her siblings, Casey Foyt and Kalen Jackson. They have had significant involvement in the company for a long time and officially received the positions of vice-chair/owners back in 2012.

But it is Irsay-Gordon who will mainly assume control of the team’s athletic operations after spending years getting ready to step into her father’s role when the moment arrived.

Due to their father's ongoing health problems prior to his untimely death on Wednesday afternoon, the Irsay sisters have become increasingly engaged and visible in handling the team's daily operations at the Colts.

Over recent years, Irsay-Gordon has been spotted at training camp sessions, engaging with the Colts' draft team, and sporting headsets beside the sideline during game days with the Colts, where he listens to the play calls.

It seems that an informal plan for transferring primary oversight of the Colts franchise to his three daughters had been underway, possibly due to the necessity caused by Jim Irsay’s recurring health problems in recent times.

Even though Jim Irsay has appeared visibly weaker recently, a complete transition occurred earlier than expected, following the unexpected demise of the long-time Colts team owner and caretaker at the age of merely 65 years old.

The Colts team seems poised for future success and will remain under the control of the Irsay family, which was Jim Irsay’s primary objective. He may find eternal peace.
